SEPT 12-13, 2013 : International Conference on Islamophobia: Law and Media | Istanbul, Turkey

On September 12-13, Nathan Lean attended the International Conference on Islamophobia in Istanbul, Turkey where he delivered a speech on anti-Muslim sentiment in the American media. The event was hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey. Nathan’s speech will be included as a chapter in an upcoming book published in 2014. MAY 14-15, 2013: 12th Annual Arab Media Forum | Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Under the auspices of the Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 12th annual Arab Media Forum, held at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai, featured a panel discussion on “Islamophobia and the Media.” Alongside Abdulaziz Al Twaijiri, the director general of Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and others, Nathan participated in a panel discussion of the American media’s role in fostering anti-Muslim prejudice and offered ideas for ways to correct it.
